Purpose and Goals
The purpose of the AcadiaGeeks community is to promote the sharing of knowledge, insights, and humour amongst its members.
Core Values
Atmosphere
- The atmosphere of the AcadiaGeeks Slack channel is expected to be one of amicable hostility. Making fun of other members and their failings is both accepted and encouraged.
Ground Rules and Guidelines
Expectations
- Members are expected to attend daily meetings within the IRC channel.
- Links to interesting and amusing content should be shared among members.
Rules and Consequences
- If a member discusses something that has been discussed during their apparent presence as if they are discussing it for the first time, they must be mocked.
- if a user bignoses, rosses or otherwise grossly malforms their english, they must be mocked.
Meetings and Communications
Meeting Times and Places
- The primary meeting location of AcadiaGeeks is in the IRC channel hosted on Slack in #acadiageeks. Attendance is expected, but not mandatory.
- Occasional ad-hoc, in-person meetings may be arranged by members as needed
- Annually, as many members as possible attempt to meet up for the GeekBrau beer tasting party. This is typically held around the Christmas season, but can be rescheduled as required.
